Why us
We are new and have no completed placement yet. Three things nevertheless speak for us — and one against. Both are on this page.
We know the person at the far end of the chain
The weak point of any international placement is what actually happens 5,000 kilometres away: whether selection is done carefully, whether certificates and civil documents are genuine, and whether candidates are advised honestly. That cannot be settled from Germany by email. It can only be judged if you know the person doing it.
We did not find our partner in Accra, Adu Nasir Ahmad, through an advert or a partner directory. He was our founder's host father. Pascal Haag lived in his home, the two know each other personally, and he saw at close range how Ahmad works and how he deals with young people who want to go abroad.
This is why the cooperation rests on a personal foundation rather than on a contract with an agency none of us has ever met. It is the one part of our offering a competitor cannot reproduce.
We carry the risk, not you
You pay nothing before the training contract is signed. The first instalment falls due only once probation has been passed, and if the training ends earlier, all outstanding instalments fall away. The final instalment only arrives when you keep the apprentice on after they qualify — so we are paid in full only if they have become a skilled worker in your company.
That is not a gesture but the construction: search, selection, the language course and the entire official procedure run at our expense before you pay a single euro. How our model works in detail →
We say no when it does not fit
If we have nobody suitable for your trade, we say so rather than placing someone who does not fit. If your pay is not enough to prove the cost of living and you cannot provide accommodation, we say so in the first phone call and not a year later. And if you have not yet made a serious attempt with applicants in Germany, we recommend starting there — we are the second route, not the first.
We do not place into healthcare or nursing professions at all. That is excluded by law for applicants from Ghana, and we observe it without exception, even though it would be the commercially more attractive field.
Who is behind this
Pascal Haag
I founded Ausbildungsvermittlung Ghana as a sole proprietorship in Bonn, because apprenticeships here in the region are going unfilled while young people in Ghana with technical schooling are looking for exactly those positions. My job is to bring the two sides together and to handle the paperwork in between.
You are dealing with a person here, not a sales department. Whoever calls us speaks to me — and will still be speaking to me if something goes wrong in the second year.
UPED Programs, Accra
The work on the ground — finding candidates, selecting them, supporting them through the language course and obtaining the necessary documents — is handled by Adu Nasir Ahmad and his organisation UPED Programs. It has worked in international education and exchange placement since 2018: university admissions, J-1 exchange programmes and high school placements, mainly to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. What matters for our work is the experience with exactly what decides cases here too: assessing candidates realistically, obtaining certificates and civil documents correctly, guiding people through visa procedures, and keeping them engaged over many months. You are welcome to look for yourself: upedprograms.com.
What speaks against us
We would rather say it ourselves than have you ask: we have no completed placement and no references so far. The company is new, and the German dual apprenticeship route is new for UPED Programs too — their experience so far lies in the English-speaking world. What is in place is the process, the access to candidates, and seven years of experience with selection, documents and visa procedures.
On top of that: our selection process is careful, but it is not a guarantee. Personal shortlisting on the ground, verified certificates and your own video interview reduce the risk — they cannot rule out a misjudgement, any more than with any other hire.
If you find that too uncertain, that is a fair objection. Raise it with us — we are glad to walk you through exactly how we work and what documentation we can put in front of you.
