Pascal Haag
I founded Ausbildungsvermittlung Ghana as a sole proprietorship in Bonn, because apprenticeships here in the region are going unfilled while young people in Ghana with technical schooling are looking for exactly those positions. My job is to bring the two sides together and to handle the paperwork in between.
Our partner in Accra: Adu Nasir Ahmad
The work on the ground — finding candidates, selecting them, supporting them through the language course and obtaining the necessary documents — is handled by Adu Nasir Ahmad and his organisation UPED Programs in Accra.
UPED Programs has worked in international education and exchange placement since 2018: university admissions, J-1 exchange programmes and high school placements, mainly to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. What matters for our work is the experience with exactly what decides cases here too: assessing candidates realistically, obtaining certificates and civil documents correctly, guiding people through visa procedures, and keeping them engaged over many months. Why him
I did not find Adu Nasir Ahmad through an advert or a partner directory. He was my host father in Ghana. I lived in his home, we know each other personally, and I saw at close range how he works and how he deals with young people who want to go abroad.
In this business that is not a minor detail. The weak point of any international placement is what actually happens at the far end of the chain — whether selection is done carefully, whether certificates and civil documents are genuine, and whether candidates are advised honestly. That cannot be settled from Germany by email. It can only be judged if you know the person doing it. This is why the cooperation rests on a personal foundation rather than on a contract with an agency I have never met.
What we cannot yet show
We would rather say it ourselves than have you ask: we have no completed placement and no references so far. The company is new, and the German dual apprenticeship route is new for UPED Programs too — their experience so far lies in the English-speaking world. What is in place is the process, the access to candidates, and seven years of experience with selection, documents and visa procedures.
